What this means for EU users
Bitget joined the late wave of applicants, filing with the Austrian Financial Market Authority in June 2026. Until the FMA decides, Bitget holds no MiCA authorization and cannot onboard EEA retail users through a regulated EU entity.
Austria has become a hub for exchange CASPs (Bybit, KuCoin, WhiteBIT and Bitpanda are all FMA-supervised), so an approval would slot Bitget into a well-trodden supervisory path.
