How we measureComparing two stored BTC rows
The September 13, 2026, 10:30 UTC bucket contains these current-rate observations. The archived example rows preserve the original values and source timestamps. Binance reported 0.003304% for the rate that PerpFinder associates with an eight-hour interval. Its normalized rate is 0.000413% per hour.
Hyperliquid's stored current rate is −0.00115188% per hour, with an assumed one-hour interval in this feed. Its normalized eight-hour rate is −0.00921504%. These normalized values permit period comparisons; they do not change either venue's settlement schedule.
The Binance row has no open-interest value; the Hyperliquid row has no next-settlement time. Those missing fields do not mean zero open interest or no future payment. Annualized values use linear extrapolation of the hourly rate across 8,760 hours. They do not forecast yearly returns. A normalized column can use a predicted row when its current row is absent. The current and predicted columns identify which rate types are available. The prediction accuracy page compares stored forecasts with the settled rates.
An asterisk marks an explicitly assumed interval. Some direct adapters also use fixed schedules without an asterisk. The source interval table lists these limits. Collection times can differ from venue source times; rates can change before settlement.
Methodology v2: 1424 stored asset sweeps across eight recent UTC dates. Settlement records read across all periods: BTC 5394, ETH 6874. Counts reflect successful reads; storage errors can reduce counts, including to zero. Current-version series maturity: established. The history page separates funding records from price-basis charts.
Terms used on this page
- Funding rate
- A funding rate is the periodic payment between long and short positions that keeps a perpetual futures price near its index price. When the rate is positive, longs pay shorts.
- Funding interval
- The funding interval is the time between two funding settlements on one market, for example 1 hour or 8 hours. A rate always belongs to its interval.
