Liquidation price formula

A venue liquidates a position when its equity falls to the maintenance margin. The maintenance margin is a rate on the position value at the mark price.

Long: liquidation price = entry × (1 − margin ÷ position value) ÷ (1 − maintenance rate)

Short: liquidation price = entry × (1 + margin ÷ position value) ÷ (1 + maintenance rate)

In isolated mode, the margin is the position value divided by the leverage. In cross mode, the margin also includes the free balance of the account. A long with margin equal to the full position value has no liquidation price above zero.

Your venue can show a different price. Venues raise the maintenance rate for large positions, charge a liquidation fee and apply funding to the margin. Use the liquidation price on the venue position screen as the final value. PerpFinder records the platform maximum leverage of 65 active venue profiles, but no maintenance margin tables. Type the rate from the venue margin schedule.
