Editorial function: role and method
Writes and updates the reviews, comparisons and guides.
These three names are functions, not separate departments. One small group does all three jobs. We do not publish individual names.
Responsibilities
- Write and update exchange reviews, comparisons and guides
- Link each important claim to a primary source, such as official documents, terms or a regulator register
- Check dated claims again and change the editorial review date when the content changes
- Set the ratings. A rating is an editorial assessment that uses the measured data on the page
How this function works
Each rating is an editorial score from 0 to 10. It uses the dimensions on /how-we-test and the measured data on the page. It is not the output of a fixed formula. A claim about fees, audits, regulation or availability must cite a primary source. We do not accept an aggregator as evidence for these claims.
