How to report an error

Email support@perpfinder.com with the subject “Correction report”. Include the page URL, the claim you believe is wrong, and — if you have one — a link to a primary source (official docs, terms of service, a regulator's register, an exchange's published fee page). Reports with sources are typically resolved fastest, but a source is not required to report.

Anyone can report: readers, exchanges we cover, researchers. Exchanges get no special treatment — a venue asking us to change a number goes through exactly the same verification as any other report.

How fact claims are investigated

• PerpFinder Editorial Review verifies the disputed claim against a primary source — never against another aggregator.
• Load-bearing facts (audits, launch dates, performance figures, regulatory status) are kept in an internal facts registry with the source URL and the date each fact was last verified. A correction updates the registry, and automated CI checks then block any page from contradicting it.
• Live market numbers (volume, open interest, funding, order-book costs) are recomputed continuously from exchange APIs; disputes about them are checked against the raw API responses and our published data definitions.
• If a claim cannot be verified either way, we say so on the page rather than leaving a confident but unverifiable statement.

How corrections are labeled

Material corrections — a wrong fee, a wrong audit claim, a wrong regulatory status — are fixed in the text and the page's last editorial reviewdate is updated. Trivial fixes (typos, formatting) are corrected silently and do not change review dates. If a correction materially changes a page's conclusion or rating, we note what changed directly on the page.

When a page gets a new “last reviewed” date

Only when a human actually changed or re-verified the content: a rewritten section, a corrected fact, a re-check of dated claims against their sources. We never bump review dates to look fresh — a page that hasn't needed changes keeps its honest, older date.

Editorial updates vs. automatic data updates

These are different things, and our pages label them separately:

• Live data last refreshed — the automatic pipeline pulled fresh numbers from exchange APIs. This happens continuously (most datasets refresh every few minutes) with no human involved, and it never changes a page's review date.
• Last editorial review — a person changed or re-verified the written content. This is the date that moves when a correction lands.
• Fact verification dates — individual load-bearing claims carry their own last-verified date in our facts registry, checked against primary sources.
