About Bitpanda in the EU

Bitpanda operates in the EU through Bitpanda GmbH (+2 group entities), supervised by the Financial Market Authority (Finanzmarktaufsicht) in Austria. The authorization was granted in April 2025 and covers 7 of the 10 MiCA crypto-asset services — the #3 broadest licence among the 16 authorized exchanges we track. One authorization passports across all 27 EU member states plus the wider EEA, so Austria-based supervision covers customers bloc-wide.

The EU entity is currently spot-only: MiCA does not cover derivatives, and Bitpanda has not yet activated a MiFID II entity for EU perps.
