What this means for EU users

WEEX has operated since 2018. Its Terms of Use name no legal entity, put the terms under the laws of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and exclude the United States and Singapore. A FinCEN MSB search for “WEEX” returned no match.

WEEX has no MiCA CASP licence and does not appear in the ESMA register. It advertises a 1,000 BTC protection fund and reports no exchange-level incident affecting user funds.

For EU/EEA users this means WEEX has no EU-authorized entity: after July 1, 2026 it cannot legally solicit or onboard EEA retail customers, and anyone trading there does so under offshore terms without EU custody, complaint or prudential protections.
