Yes — fully MiCA-authorized

WB-Shields Innovations GmbH is authorized by the Financial Market Authority (Finanzmarktaufsicht) (🇦🇹 Austria) since June 2026, licensed for 5 of the 10 MiCA crypto-asset services, passported across the EU/EEA. Note: Newest major authorization — June 18, 2026.

WhiteBIT, founded in Ukraine and now operating its EU business from Lithuania, is one of the larger European-origin exchanges by traffic. Its MiCA authorization covers the spot exchange; its separate global perps offering is not part of the EU-regulated package (derivatives require MiFID II, which WhiteBIT does not hold in the EEA). On this register it stands as the largest Eastern-European-origin CASP.

About WhiteBIT in the EU

WhiteBIT operates in the EU through WB-Shields Innovations GmbH, supervised by the Financial Market Authority (Finanzmarktaufsicht) in Austria. The authorization was granted in June 2026 and covers 5 of the 10 MiCA crypto-asset services. One authorization passports across all 27 EU member states plus the wider EEA, so Austria-based supervision covers customers bloc-wide.

Standard spot fees are 0.1% maker / 0.1% taker — below the 0.25% median across MiCA-authorized venues. The EU entity is currently spot-only: MiCA does not cover derivatives, and WhiteBIT has not yet activated a MiFID II entity for EU perps (global platform has futures; the EU entity (whitebit.eu) is spot-only).
