There is no active Kwenta referral deal. Synthetix absorbed Kwenta in November 2024, and the standalone product — along with its Boost NFT referral program — was wound down as the team folded into Synthetix. The kwenta.io address now redirects to synthetix.io. This page stays live as a record for traders who used Kwenta or held KWENTA, and to point you toward venues that still run a referral discount. For active perp trading today, see Hyperliquid, GMX, or the full perps directory.

What Kwenta was

Kwenta launched in April 2021 as one of the main trading frontends for Synthetix Perps, first on Optimism. It ran on Synthetix pooled liquidity rather than a private order book, covering around 81 markets at up to 100x leverage on majors. Kwenta's fees were set at the Synthetix protocol level: 2 bps maker and 6 bps taker on most markets. Its contracts were audited repeatedly by 0xMacro, with further reviews from Iosiro, Omniscia, and 0xCommit, which gave it one of the deeper audit records in DeFi perps.

The merger into Synthetix

Two changes ended the standalone venue. First, Synthetix acquired Kwenta in a token-for-token swap: 1:17 KWENTA-to-SNX, closing in November 2024. The Kwenta team merged into Synthetix and Kwenta stopped being a standalone DAO. Second, Synthetix consolidated its deployments onto Ethereum mainnet through mid-2025, phasing out the earlier Optimism and Base versions. The Kwenta trading product was folded into Synthetix's own exchange frontend, and kwenta.io no longer runs as an independent site; it redirects to synthetix.io.

What happened to the referral program

Kwenta's Boost NFT system once paid referred traders a 30% fee rebate in real time, one of the highest direct rebates on any perp DEX. That program was tied to the standalone Kwenta frontend and did not survive the merger. Fee decisions and reward allocations now run through Synthetix, which does not operate the old Boost NFT rebate. Any guide still advertising a live Kwenta referral code or a 30% rebate predates November 2024.

What happened to the KWENTA token

KWENTA no longer exists as a live governance asset. Holders swapped into SNX at the 1:17 ratio when the merger closed in November 2024. If you read a guide that recommends buying or staking KWENTA for fee discounts, it is out of date; governance and rewards run through SNX now.

Where Kwenta traders went

The Synthetix Perps product Kwenta helped build is still live on Ethereum mainnet under the Synthetix Exchange brand, with multi-collateral margin added in April 2026. But for traders who came here specifically for a referral discount, the live options are elsewhere. Hyperliquid leads DeFi perps by volume and still runs a 4% taker-fee discount through referral; GMX takes 10% off open and close fees; and our perps directory lists every active venue we track with current fees and volume.

If you used Kwenta: a checklist

Funds: Kwenta was self-custodial, so positions and collateral live on Synthetix contracts, reachable through the Synthetix Exchange frontend. KWENTA: swapped 1:17 into SNX. Referral: the Boost NFT rebate program is closed. No code or link earns a Kwenta referral bonus today, which is why this page no longer shows an active deal.

Deal ended. Synthetix acquired Kwenta in a 1:17 KWENTA-to-SNX swap (November 2024) and folded it into Synthetix Perps. The standalone Kwenta referral program is discontinued and kwenta.io now redirects to synthetix.io, so no referral benefit can accrue on the old venue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Kwenta referral program still active?

No. Synthetix acquired Kwenta in November 2024 through a 1:17 KWENTA-to-SNX swap and folded it into Synthetix Perps. The standalone Boost NFT referral rebate was discontinued, and kwenta.io now redirects to synthetix.io. This page stays up as a record and points to venues that still run live referral deals.

What happened to the Kwenta 30% fee rebate?

The 30% Boost NFT rebate was tied to the standalone Kwenta frontend and did not survive the merger into Synthetix. Fee and reward decisions run through Synthetix now, and it does not operate the old rebate. Any guide still advertising a live Kwenta 30% rebate predates November 2024.

What happened to the KWENTA token?

KWENTA holders swapped into SNX at a 1:17 ratio when Synthetix acquired Kwenta in November 2024. Kwenta is no longer a standalone DAO with its own token, and governance and rewards run through Synthetix.

Can I still trade on Kwenta?

The Synthetix Perps product Kwenta helped build is still live on Ethereum mainnet under the Synthetix Exchange brand, with multi-collateral margin added in April 2026. But kwenta.io itself redirects to synthetix.io, so there is no independent Kwenta venue anymore.

What should Kwenta traders use for a referral discount instead?

For live perp trading with an active referral deal, Hyperliquid runs a 4% taker-fee discount and GMX takes 10% off open and close fees. Our perps directory lists every venue we track with current fees and volume.
