GMX position fees and measured trading cost
GMX fees at a glance
GMX charges a position fee of 0.040% or 0.060% on each open and close, in place of maker and taker rates. The rates come from docs.gmx.io, read on September 23, 2026. The stored sweep of September 25, 2026 put GMX at rank 36 of 43 for a $10,000 BTC market buy, at 6.48 bps. That is 1.36 bps more than Binance in the same sweep (5.13 bps).
GMX has no order book, so one position fee replaces the maker and taker split. An order that opens on the smaller side of the market pays the lower rate.
How the GMX position fee works
An open and a close of $10,000 cost $8.00 at the low rate and $12.00 at the high rate. The trader does not select the rate. The effect of the order on the long and short balance sets it.
| Rate | Percent | bps | Fee on $10,000 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Position fee, low | 0.040% | 4 bps | $4.00 |
| Position fee, high | 0.060% | 6 bps | $6.00 |
